Our Story
The Spanglish Travelers began with a simple idea: give U.S. teens a true taste of Spain—its people, language and everyday life—through safe, small-group programs led by educators. We live in Madrid and design each itinerary the way we travel with our own family: curious, hands-on and human.
Over the years, our team has explored Spain from museum halls to mountain trails and quiet village plazas. We combine classic highlights with real local moments—cooking, conversation, crafts, and calm downtime—so students return more confident, independent and globally aware. Our name says it all: Spanglish is where cultures meet, and Travelers is who we are.
Meet the Team
Our diverse team is the backbone of The Spanglish Travelers. We bring together expertise, passion, and dedication to ensure every participant feels supported and inspired.
U.S. educator based in Madrid, Victoria teaches American culture to Spanish and international students. She has led student groups across Spain and volunteered as a teacher in Indonesia and Colombia. Her vibrant energy and enthusiasm creates a positive group dynamic and her classroom expertise shapes our daily “Survival Spanish” and reflective activities so teens learn by doing—safely and with purpose.
A Spanish business professional with roots in rural hospitality, Sergio has managed projects from countryside stays to an olive-oil family mill. He handles vendor vetting, logistics and parent communications—so your teen’s journey runs smoothly from airport pickup to farewell dinner.
Kate is a world traveler and has spent the last decade teaching in Madrid at an international school. She specializes in bringing Spain's history to life through engaging storytelling and cultural activities. Teens love her ability to connect American perspectives with Spanish traditions.
Originally from Boston, Emily has lived in Spain for over 12 years teaching English and drama in Spain. Based in Sevilla, she blends her background in performing arts with Spanish immersion workshops. She helps teens explore culture through music, theater, and creative expression.
A Chicago native, Lauren moved to Spain 7 years ago and has been teaching and leading outdoor programs ever since. Having studied international education, as well as geography and environmental sustainability, she guides students through hiking, surfing, and eco-projects, always focused on safety and teamwork.
Gina, from New York, has taught in bilingual schools in Spain for over 10 years. She focuses on student support, wellbeing, and cross-cultural adjustment. Living in the South of Spain in Málaga, she is an avid beach go-er and nature lover. Known for her warm personality, she ensures every teen feels comfortable, safe, and ready to grow during the journey.
